Grace is God giving us something we do not deserve: forgiveness and eternal life. But grace comes through the conduit of faith in Jesus Christ alone. Grace cannot be earned by getting our lives together first. Jesus didn’t come for good people: He came for sinners. We must claim spiritual bankruptcy before we can be forgiven of that debt. Receiving Jesus means receiving grace!
Would you like to know God personally?
Many people try to find God through various ways, mostly through being religious or doing religious things.
But God is not the one who is lost, PEOPLE are.
In fact, the Bible says that God seeks out lost people
“The Son of Man (Jesus) came to seek and to save that which was lost.”
But how do we know God?
Myriads of books have been written, but how do we know which ones are trustworthy?
The Bible claims to be God’s revelation to man concerning Himself. The Bible is trustworthy for finding out about God.
Are you really interested in knowing God?
God created us to know Himself. But there is a problem. God, who is absolute holiness, cannot look upon sinful human beings like us. He who is Life cannot fellowship with people condemned to death.
All people are born sinners. It doesn’t make any difference how much or how little sin there is in our lives, we are under God’s just condemnation because we are sinners.
For the wages of sin is death… (Rom. 6:23a)
But because He is merciful, as well as holy, God is not satisfied to leave our helpless condition unattended. He provided for His own just wrath against our sins by punishing His own Son, Jesus Christ, on the cross in order to provide a substitute payment for our offenses toward Him.
Believing in God means accepting His provision for our sins — His suffering in our behalf. It is simply a matter of placing your faith in this truth.
God made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the
righteousness of God in Him. (2 Cor. 5:21)
When You Place Faith in Christ, Several Things Happen
God comes into your life in the Person of Jesus Christ.
To as many as received Him, to them He gave the right
to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name.
Your sins (All of them!) are forgiven.
And you, being dead in your trespasses…He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses. (Col. 2:13)
You avoid personal punishment for your sins in the eternal Lake of Fire.
And anyone not found written in the book of Life was cast into the Lake of Fire. (Rev. 20:15)
You inherit eternal life and heaven for all of eternity.
And this is the testimony, that God has given us eternal life,
and this life is in His Son. (1 John 5:11).
You begin the great adventure of knowing God through His Son, Jesus Christ (the very thing God originally created you for).
I have come that they might have life, and might have it more abundantly. (John 10:10)
Would You Like to Invite God Into Your Life?
The way to let Jesus know you are thinking about this, is to pray.
Can you be sure God is listening?
Yes, He is listening, He is always interested in you!
You can pray a prayer similar to the one below in order to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.
“Lord Jesus, I need You. I open my life to You and invite You to be my Savior and Lord. I believe that Your death on the cross paid the penalty for my sins, and satisfied God’s wrath against me. Please forgive my sins, give me the eternal life You promised to all who would believe, and make me the follower of Jesus Christ that You created me to be.” Amen.
A Wonderful Truth
It was Jesus’ physical death that wiped away our sins. All of them! No matter how insignificant or heinous.
It was His resurrection from the dead that brought us life.
Jesus is now in heaven acting on the behalf of those who believe in him. (Hebrews 4:14-16)
By accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior, you have allowed God to accept you!
And what could be more significant and joyous than coming to know God, through the Person of Jesus Christ, His Son?
